Act sustainably, conserve resources and the climate
Instead of purchasing new, capital-intensive locomotives, well-preserved diesel-hydraulic or diesel-electric rail vehicles with a high degree of wear and tear are converted to an electro-hybrid drive train and electricity is used as the primary energy supply wherever possible: This protects the environment and makes economic sense. After the modernization, the rail vehicles generate practically no emissions, are significantly quieter in operation and offer a wider range of applications.
LKM offers
- Specification, development, construction, approval (TSI, GOST, AAR) and production readiness of rail vehicles
- Production of prototypes in our own workshop
- Electro-hybrid locomotives: repowering/hybridization; conceptual and physical conversion of existing locomotives to modern (hybrid) drive systems
Development basis are currently diesel-hydraulic locomotives of type MaK G1204 to G2000. Further locomotives, especially diesel-electric ones, are in preparation. Talk to us, we will develop a hybridization concept for your rail vehicle fleet.
